With the family of 11 beautiful idols, the history of Shri Chandraprabhudada is enormous. At the center of the village there gracefully exists an artistic, sky-towering, pinnacled, charismatic, palatial house, made up of marble, silver and glass artistic sculpting. The temple, along with the pinnacles has four domes and is guarded by three doors.

In the year of samvat 1874, on the auspicious day of Fagun Sud 2nd at an auspicious time the magical idol of Shri Chandraprabhu Swami was seated in the Jinalay with all happiness by a resident of Bhavnagar Shri Rupjibhai Mehta.

About 197 years ago (as of 2013 A. D.), Shri Tana Sangh’s respected seniors Bhai Shri Ghelabhai Ghagabhai and Bhai Shri Dhanjibhai Shavaganbhai and others, considering the needs of the Sangh decided to construct a magnificent Derasar at the center of the village. The work was carried on with the determination of seating an ancient idol of Bhagwanji in the temple. With this, the worries in the Sangh also started rising.

During the end of the construction of the Jinalaya, Shri Sanghpati had a dream,

"Hey Gentleman, do not worry, for your Derasar ,the greatest Bhagwanji will be the magical and of the complexion of moon-light, Shri Chandraprabhu Swami. To search the mentioned idol, follow what I say, near Botad there is a small village named Paliyad. There is an idol which has been found there in the farm and it is worshipped as “Dholiya Thakar (White God)”. Go there and give Kathiyani, Mrs. Kankubhai money, which will make her happy and would give you the famous, enormous and magical idol of Shri Chandraprabhu Swami. This idol will reside as the presiding deity in the temple. I would also visit Kathiyani in her dreams.”

After informing this, the god disappeared from the dream. As soon as the Sangh was informed about the dream, everyone was very happy. Immediately, they set for Paliyad to get the magical idol and kept it in the Dharamshala (Guest House). One theory that this idol was found from the ground proved that this belonged to an era of kingship of Shri Sampratiman and even today, the family of Kathiyani Kankubhai resides in Paliyad.

In samvat 1874, about 197 years ago (as of 2013 A. D.), on the early morning of 2nd day of Fagun Sud 2nd, this idol from the Dharamshala was taken in a decorated Palki along with a high festive spirit in a procession. With the music and songs, along with elder people, the villagers, the Jain and non-Jain, the Varghodo entered the village. The excitement levels started rising. With dhol, shehanai and music the atmosphere was filled with happiness. The Prabhuji’s procession proceeded through the village in a high spirit.

The rathyatra entered the village and at the same time the ladies who was in the village to sell Ghee Ghadva (cans) stopped to see the Lords procession. The Muslim businessman doing the business of Ghee named Khoja Vyapari Nanji Para said that the 5 Sheri (2 kilos) of Ghee and this god of the business community (Vaniyas /Baniyas), both are similar so why to see the procession. And there was a miracle. As soon as the procession reached near Nanji Khoja’s shop, automatically the Ghee cans floated in the air and came in the middle of the road. Nanjibhai came from the shop to pick up the cans but both his hands got stuck to the can. Nanhibhai Khoja realized his mistake and asked for forgiveness to god. He also decided that if his hands get unstuck again then in the service of Prabhuji he would offer diyas of five and quarter Sher Ghee. And there was again a miracle. Nanjibhai’s hands got unstuck and people around were shocked to see the same. Everyone started chanting Punyaham, Punyaham, Priyantam, Priyantam. The entire atmosphere got filled with the chants. In the year of 1874, on the auspicious day of Fagun Sud 2nd at an auspicious time the magical idol of Shri Chandraprabhu Swami was seated in the Jinalay with all happiness by a resident of Bhavnagar, Shri Upjibhai Mehta. After celebrating the procession through various villages the first ghee diya in the Derasar was lighted by a Muslim Khoja Nanjibhai. Nanjibhai asked from the Shri Sangh to provide the ghee forever for the Akhand Diya in the Derasar. Shri Sangh readily agreed for it. Till the time Nanjibhai was alive, the ghee for the Akhand Diya was refilled by him and the same Akhand Diya is lit till today.
